So is it true that Mirko was there on the floor practising but didn't dance the comp?  Huh

I used my considerable gossip googling powers (Who knew that there was a website completely devoted to ballroom gossip?) and couldn't find anything to that effect. Could be true, though.Who knows? *shrug*

Guess it must be.  But is that surprising?  I wonder if they are waiting for Arunas/Katusha to retire for a comeback?

From my understanding, there is no turning back :\. At least according to Edita's interview, they won't get the World Champ even after A&K retires.

..well, maybe there's no such thing as 'never'.... Wink

Or was she implying that the judges would not give it to them?

I'm not sure exactly what was implied, so I'll go back and read the interview again. Smiley  But aren't they all about the same age?  I'm not sure that waiting for A&K's retirement would be good career planning, even f the judges were to cooperate. The time is now, while they are in their prime. My $0.02.

but look at the comment on the WDC recently - they are reluctant to change champions until they choose to retire.

She implied, in her interview, that some judges would give them third (before their retirement) just because she was a bit, uh..."naughty."

Ok, forget the naughty part.

She said in her interview, a couple of years ago, that some judges disliked her/them, to the point that they were going to marked them third (instead of second). If that was true, then they won't get the champion title even after A&K's retirement (since they would only move up to second).

Beside, now they competed in WDSF (it is also in the interview) - so that is a sure goodbye to WDC's world champion title. I think that that is kinda sad :\.

I dare say you are right - but thats attrocious.  IT makes a mockery out of judging - which is supposed to be on quality alone and not on what else the dancers do.  It harps back to the days when you could not win unless you were British Tongue

Interesting though - has any couple done well competing in both WDSF AND WDC?

My browser makes underlines misspelled words in red.  Still doesn't save me, though.  My new laptop has keys that stick or skip, so I end up missing lots of typos, even though I proofread.
