Back when John Travolta did it, it was the hottest dance in town.  Everybody wanted to hustle. (Aside: remember those TV commercials where everybody claimed he/she'd taught John Travolta to dance?  hilarious!)

Anyway, to be honest, the only places I've seen hustle since the big disco era have been in ballroom studios, when I go out dancing with ballroom buddies, or at gay bars/discos.   This is despite the fact that so many "club dance mixes" of pop songs are PERFECT for hustle, IMHO.

Maybe I'm just sheltered, but I have to ask.  Has hustle seen its last days in the limelight, or is it just a sleeping giant ready to roar again?

Do you dance hustle?  Where/with whom?  To what music?  Any videos to share? Smiley

It's still alive in some circles. Here's a link to an upcoming Hustle comp:

Here's a couple of Hustle vids I liked:

"It's not what you do, but how you do it."

"The Truth in Ballroom Dance is found in the Basic steps."

That's very cool!  Thanks.  I thought hustle was dying.  Glad it's not.  I certainly had no idea that there's a competition.

I wonder if it's one of those dance crazes that will come back eventually.  There really hasn't been a dance craze, lately (unless you count Gangnam style or the Harlem Shake, which I don't. *shudder*)

Nice videos, by the way.Smiley
