Ballroom and especially tango women wear some of the most incredibly beautiful shoes. I mean really beautiful.  And many of them wouldn't consider anything less than a 3 or 4 inch heel, even though their feet repeatedly hit the floor with literally hundreds or even thousands of pounds of force.

Over time, ouch.

Questions:  What, if anything, do you ladies do to help minimize injury and other wear and tear on your feet?  What heel heights do you prefer?  Would you consider something lower?  Are there exercises that one can do or products one can use to ameliorate the damage?   Have you ever suffered a high-heel related injury or condition?  Do you wear lower heeled practice shoes?  Etc?

OTOH: What do you see as the benefit of wearing heels?  Leg lines (thinking ballroom here)  Balance (thinking tango)

Dona nobis pacem.
