Lovely Q!  Durned if I can see any flaws - NV is just such fun to watch, I feel like I'm seeing an old 30s movie where everyone is synchronized...

It is lovely to do as well, way more expressive that Standard dancing where you never get to look at your partner or very little

The difference is that sometimes social dancers don't lead and follow, they just both know the steps and do it together at the same time.
and competition dancers don't do the same thing??? I would say that here at least 80% do exactly that

Yep you're right, but that's what separates the average, the good and the great!

It also takes time for that to happen BTW... but practice makes perfect.

We have just booked to go to an event in QLD and they have put a dance in there that is a lower level dance. recently they updated the new vouge guildines to limit the amount of dances that each grade needs to practice.

Now out of left field they have put in a dance that is considered a lower level dance.

Fine we should know how to do it but styling of these dances takes months to become second nature and spend all that time on it when the rest of the year you will get the others.

I tried to protest but they say that it falls in the guidelines and that it is not restricted to the 8 dances expected of a A grade dancer. I feel that we should all protest and do it. in closed hold like the lower level dances it is an ugly dance. Agreed it is good to teach foot work, but the old saying putting lipstick on a pig still makes it an pig.

Feeling annoyed

maybe best to look at the silver lining and just dig in.  Who knows, maybe you will learn something... (even if its to not return next year!!)
