Well 2012 World and Australian Dancesport competition kicks off Next Thursday and continues until Sunday. Sunday should be amazing. Can't wait to see all my favourite world dancers in one place together. We are dancing on Thursday. Our coach is happy with our improvement and are getting consistently good marks from all adjudicators. We will see what happens..... MM

Good luck to you. We wont be there this year. 1. because of the injury and two even if I wast not injured we decided the cost of going this year was too high. Accommodation from Wednesday to Sunday plus time off work and then the entry each day. We came to nearly $3,000 and thought this could be better spent even though it will be great to see the words best. We are aiming to dance in Antwerp in February and Venice so the money is being used for that. Good Luck to you hope you have a successful Aussies!  |

Look out for our two canadian couples: Anton & Antoanetta (Canadian latin and standard champs) and Alon & Anastasia at the 2012 World Standard Championship in Melbourne Australia this weekend. |

So far Masters II has been run and won and a Friend from WA has won the New Vogue Section. A couple from NSW won the Standard. I have not yet seen all the results has they have not been posted. I do believe there has been some postings of the Adult WDFS http://www.worlddancesport.org/Event/Competition/International_Open-Melbourne-19116/Adult-Standard-44432/Ranking has been posted on our local facebook page. I do believe there will be more tomorrow. Our top couples have not participated  because of the WDC/WDSF conflict. so where is the freedom to Dance? |

I just saw in my Facebook page that our top couples are gong to dance the WDC AL event in Paris. I wish dancers could keep out of the Politics I feel that some dance teachers drag them into it and they dont want to cause trouble because they love their teachers. (especially the younger up and coming dancers)

Perhaps they hate the politics as much as anyone - but they also fear having no place to dance at all! Maybe they see the WDC as the lesser of two evils....

Did you look at the judges? I didn't notice any well known names but maybe I missed some?

they are using some locals. are you watching on the live stream from the WDSF website? |
