Dance Partner Online Services

I'd like to make a list of places where you can advertise for, or find a partner.
New post for each site...

I guess people here don't look for dance partners? *grin*
To state the obvious: dancepartner.com
A pretty good site overall, IMHO. Nice support. To bad they can't control how many suitable people actually sign up. *sigh*

well I will look to see and ask others but most of the couples that I am aware have found partners on the Dance sport Australia one, but then again they are looking local

They are facebook groups, but I think they work as well
https://www.facebook.com/groups/2204966165/
This is mostly in the midwest (though there are dancers from other places posting)

Interesting. I didn't know those facebook groups existed. Most of the posts look like legitimate queries, although did see a couple that looked like pros trolling for pro-am students. But still. A great resource.

We have a dancepartner.com topic here. There are some other negatives - mostly the price

Trouble with these is that its hard to screen them for specific needs - height, dance styles etc ...

Yes. Some of the queries also leave out vital information, such as ... where the person lives.
lol Kinda hard to decide if I want you as a partner if I don't know what continent you're on.

All valid point - however, I think the strengths of these groups are
1. Cheap. You really only need a fb account.
2. It is like networking in Business. I remember reading a person posted for an request, and another person posted a reply saying that you might want to contact so and so person.
3. I don't know, it seems to me that most of them have the "vital info" - beside, you can always leave a reply/message.

... but if you have a particular goal the chance of finding someone in your city with similar interests and level is virtually 0. Its bad enough on DP.com and there there are a broad range of filters and a very large dancer database...

True.
I think the page might be better if there was some sort of form or filter, so that people remember what information is needed.

That looks like a pretty good site, overall, and i think that narrowing it down to Australia makes a lot of sense.
