I hear that there is going to be a new one for training for comp and medalist, but I don't think it will have instruction, they will just place music so you can practice...might give that a try.
I'll definitely have a look at that one. It sounds good.

Around here, it's predominantly American bronze with some silver thrown in for the older dancers who've paid their dues and taken some private lessons. There's one tiny handful of competitors at one studio, but they stick to syllabus stuff, and don't employ a lot of styling/ technique out socially.
Our own studio's a mishmash of everything. American, International, some of the patterns have higher elements in them... our coach just teaches FUN stuff for social dancers. In our private lessons, we work on syllabus figures and more 'studious' approaches, but do whatever we can get away with socially so long as it doesn't intefere with anyone else's LOD.

How do I say "Well, besides us"... without saying it? Obnoxious I am, arrogant, not so much. Advanced as in actually studying figures, working on technique, and progressing above social swing/cha-cha/waltz, though, I mean.
No, there are... hold on...
wait...
Okay, there are several unpartnered ladies in the area, and our coaches, and the lady who used to teach us and her partner/husband... but they never dance that much anymore because one's switched to nearly entirely WCS, the other got married, our coaches seldom go out, and the others ... ye gods, I just realized it's lonely up here... and then our dance-kids (not to be confused with biological offspring- ever), and they are all of a higher level than the usual. There's one couple to the north of us who just retired (we inherited their spot at the college), and.. yeah, that's it, I think.

then you have to build one
And that means stoking up the kids and inspiring the adults
anyway to bring in ballroom showcases from out of town? Maybe we could send in the Ballroom Cavalry....
