Until yesterday I had no idea this online community existed, but am delighted to have found it!  As requested by Elise, I'm happy to say 'Good morning, hi, hello and g'day' to you all, from where I live, in Melbourne, Australia.

Until 2-1/2 years ago I had never had a dance lesson, but if there was music, I couldn't stay still. Now I compete (Masters 2 Level 1/2), and live, breathe, eat and sleep dance. (And nothing's changed; if there's music I'm moving! LOL!)

My dance partner and I focus on Standard and New Vogue styles, but are thinking of adding Latin to the mix next year. We are a fairly new partnership and thus far have not done any comps outside our city. Next year we are looking at doing some regional and interstate ones. 

I live in a beautiful leafy part of Melbourne (VIC, Australia), have one adult son, two cats (who allow me a spot on the sofa and a little bit of the bed), and I work in the Recruitment industry.

And that's me! Looking forward to learning about others here!

Hello T1...nice to learn something about you. You and I started comp dancing at the same time my partner and I also have been comp for 2 1/2 years. We live in Adelaide so find it more of a challenge to get to the interstate comps.

this year we have been to Perth, NZ and Canberra, we are going at the end of the year to Melbourne for the Aussies. which is creeping up soon. We also do Standard and New Vogue but me old knee wont allow me at the moment to do Latin.....

Hi again, all, and thanks for the replies. I've had no chance 'til now to check back, and am delighted to have heard from other members - lovely to meet you all! (QPQ - see you at the Aussies and, hopefully, next year in Adelaide!)

We were at Strictly Masters last Saturday - a lovely comp that, as the title says, is just for us Masters 1 and 2 dancers, both Registered and Medallist. In four weeks we have the Waverley Dance Festival, and are looking forward to that, then, of course, the big one, the Aussies. Although we're only dancing on the first day, I've taken leave from work so I can be there every day to have the joy of watching and supporting everyone.

Spiral (a step I still struggle with - arrrgh!), where's the kitty spot on the site? I'll have to let my two cats know that they can post there. ;-)
