We are currently level four dances but can of course do open level. do people normally have tow different sets of arms? for those that don't know about NV up to level 5 which is Open standard you are to use closed holds.
This can become quite confusing do you bother to learn open arms?

I only do standard - so no open arms EXCEPT we have to learn graceful movements for the final curtsy. I found my arms have improved a lot anyway - I think because in standard you have to hold them up without any tension - and that is a large part of the action. But you would know much more...

yes doing both STD and NV the arms are different and the secret is that you must always finish your arms right down to your finger tips. again like stand it must look like there is no tension but you must have control so they dont fling uncontrollably. this is what separates the men from the boys

when we were level 4 we had 2 sets of arms. My son is currently level 3 and has two sets of arms. You just have to really remember which event you are doing. Much easier for us now mm

yes I see that we need to do that....so we have started to have two different set of arms. We only have to learn the level 4 dances and open dances so will see if they are going to be the same oh well. I am sure we will cope.

I suppose that is always possible. but out of all the NV it is the most one done with body to body connection.

and when you do, do the same rules as in standard kick in? Or are there differences in style there too?
