FWIW, Q, I love the atmosphere at Wonderland...and while I'm glad that we're now big enough to outgrow it, it's sad as well. It seems to me to be one of the larger floors I've competed on.
it is a wonderful venue but it does have its limitations, but we wont be moving unless we can find something better.....the floor is greatmeasure 15X24m which is a decent size.
limitations are that there is not enough dressing room space or catering facilities or parking, but wonderland is not over yet!

It is so hard to try and find the right venue. Either there is no parking or change rooms that are decent, no warm-up area, not a great floor. You can get one, two or even three things but it's hard to find everything at one place.

You have to fight through a lot of crap before you find your way up out of the toilet. Sometimes I think I have a good hold on the rim then I slip back in. Each time I don't sink quite as deep though. - Rugby

yes the only way to overcome that is to have something purpose build for dancing, for that to happen groups need to be united....there is the challenge. but I am working on it in our neck of the woods.
I am sure there must be a way that each group could use it during the week and week-ends to keep it busy for the whole year! but it would not be able to happen without government support

I think it needs to have a venue that can be IDSF compliant for the size of the floor and have a minimum of 5,000 capacity seating that you can adjust so that if you dont have oodles of people there you can still make it atmospheric.
It can also be used for workshops and be hired out for socials.
It also needs parking and be in a place that is not too isolated but far enough away so not to annoy householders....

And decent changing rooms (ladies, mens, mixed) ; a 'tan spray' room; and a reasonable size practise floor...

Somewhere to easily get food - we could have a whole section on food!
Come to think of it maybe we should have a competition venue board....
