You have to fight through a lot of crap before you find your way up out of the toilet. Sometimes I think I have a good hold on the rim then I slip back in.  Each time I don't sink quite as deep though. - Rugby

This is the competition where my DP and I started out.  This should be a great comp and the judging and workshop panel for both International and Anerican style is top drawer.

I'm not familiar with it - is it the Kingston one moved to Toronto?  I've not been before...

This one was much bigger than Kingston.  It was like the Ohio Star Ball ifor Canada and the people that went to Ohio, including the Pros went there too.  It ran for four days from early morning to late evening with people from all over the world going.  It went down when the SARS thing happened and the "avoid Toronto like the plague is there" helped killl it as I think they lost a huge amount of money.  The location was torn down a year or so later and it never seemed to recover.   A few times the idea seemed to be thrown about to bring it back but I think Ann was not ready for it.  She instead went with the Maple Leaf and they seemed to get that one going instead.  Perhaps with the popularity of the Maple Leaf iit gave her the push to go for the Can/Am again.  Always top judges and workshops and people from all over will probably come to this one.

Ouch. Pro am is not cheap is it? It's going to be very expensive i think. Hmmm

5 x $35 single dance        175 x both categories = 350 I have to do the single dances to do the scholarship
Multi dance championship  120 x both = 240 x 2 age groups = 480
World dancesport series      85 x both =170
Showdance                       70

Then $50 floor ticket for Thur, $95 for Fri and Sat = 240

= $1310

Hmmm welcome to the world of Pro Am?

Wait, you are missing your coach's fee per dance or is she giving you a flat rate?

BTW that IS still cheap.  Wait till you do a comp out of town - then you have your travel and hotel, your coaches travel and hotel - and some coaches will charge you for 'lost lesson time'.  I stress some because there are also some amazing pro-am pro partners ...

When I did Pro/am at Can/Am it cost me $2700.00 for 21 dances and that was with a low level Pro.  I did it twice and decided enough of that.
