Surely we are not the only ones goint to this?

If I can scrape up the extra mullah I will go. It's expensive, $70 here and there, lessons etc. It adds up and is one of the reasons you know who quit. It sucks all the money out of my wallet.

That being said I'd love to go and watch the beautiful dancing. But I will be very sad not to be dancing.

If you do go for one session you unfortunately have to choose - thursday eve to see the standard pros, friday eve to see your standard (championship) competitors (sr1-2) or saturday to see the world Sr1 10 dance... which would you opt for?

Need about another month for my foot but will just have to go with no expectations and do what we can and have fun.

When's the last time you guys competed when you were well?  Seems like forever...

I think we are getting old.   All of us are battling with injuries or other issues so in a way we are all in the same boat.  All we can do is support each other, hope each couple can work through it and carry on and have a stiff upper lip about it in the end.  A year getting my heel, which turned out to be a bad tear at the heel attachment, to get to the point where it has not completely healed but I can dance without much problem and now this.  I feel that favoring my right heel helped cause the problem with my left foot.  On a good note I did the jive yesterday for the first time up to speed since the Ontario Closed and though the joint bothered me the day after I was able to do it so I'm happy about that.  It certainly won't effect my dancing by the Spring Dancesport.  Of course with the Canadians it won't matter a hoot how my foot is since we have not had more than two practices since Montreal back in what, January.  Dealing with my foot I can handle, not being able to do half the Tango, none of the V. Waltz and no Quickstep will be far more the factor.  Out problem is far less physical then mental.  The physical I can handle, I'll usually dance one way or the other and let the chips fall where they may,  I'm just happy to be able to get out there and do it.  Right now though, even if we were both physically 100% we will still not dance well and there is not much I can do about it.

Probably the 10 dance event, that's where my main interest lies.

Zubeyda is picking up very quickly. I feel we're making good progress. She's a very nice dancer and has lots of experience.

Plus I'm learning a showdance with another friend, hopefully we'll be ready for Scott's competition. Just a one off, for the experience and to work with Sharon Levit.

What a night!  I've never been to a competition where the audience was so much into the dancing - screaming, chanting, cheering, noise makers - downright bedlam!  And heats with 30-40 couples with the best of canada all there - and amazingly smoothly, politely and helpfully run.

Congratulations to the organizers, the volunteers and also the judges on what has to be one of the best comps I have been to.
