Are couples really that set in their performance abilities?

I agree - I can't believe that one couple can be 'on' so consistently to be tops in the world all the time.  Seems to me that the Int Standard results are pretty much predictable - are the couples really that set in their performance abilities?

I think it is historical. once at the top it apprears you stay at the top till you retire  but surely everyone has a good day and bad days and if it is bad you should not ge to win! I feel sorry for those that are always place 4th 5th etc means they will never get to the top unless the others pull out. I am thinking of the Brother sister combination from Germany..they dance beautifully but never place higher than that.

leading on from the other topic. I see local dancers that are at the top, who are contstanly having lessons from different coaches and in all honestly I cannot see any change in their dancing.

Does there come a point where you are what you are and cant refine and improve anymore?

Don't you wish they could have a competition where the couples danced anonymously - to see if the result was the same.  But can't think how to do it...
