[topic came up in the UK open comp topic ee]

I agree - I can't believe that one couple can be 'on' so consistently to be tops in the world all the time.  Seems to me that the Int Standard results are pretty much predictable - are the couples really that set in their performance abilities?

I think it is historical. once at the top it apprears you stay at the top till you retire  but surely everyone has a good day and bad days and if it is bad you should not ge to win! I feel sorry for those that are always place 4th 5th etc means they will never get to the top unless the others pull out. I am thinking of the Brother sister combination from Germany..they dance beautifully but never place higher than that. Undecided

that  could  be another topic "are couples really that set in their performance abilities?

leading on from the other topic. I see local dancers that are at the top, who are contstanly having lessons from different coaches and in all honestly I cannot see any change in their dancing.

Does there come a point where you are what you are and cant refine and improve anymore?

Don't you wish they could have a competition where the couples danced anonymously - to see if the result was the same.  But can't think how to do it...
