Hmm...was he allowed to talk? Cause he's adjudicating, and you are a competitor. I've always been told to keep communication with adjudicators to nill at comps you are competing in.

Another questions regarding to NV, this is more about holds in level competition.
In Tango Terrific, we do the side steps in open promenade position (as stated in the book) with man RH to lady LH hold. Are we allowed to swap hand on the second side step? i.e. swap to man LF to lady RH hold.

Hi SwingWaltz.. Unfortunately no you can't. You must be in Open Promenade Position RH to LH hold during the two side steps.

NV is currently expanding through Europe. I believe it is being embraced in Germany, Belgium (formation Team), it would be interesting to find out what is popular there....

well perhaps one day...it opens up all sorts of scenarios...but I would think time is an issue. And like with the Olympics someone would need to sell it to say why it should be there.

I found that I pick up the Tango based dances very quickly including styling but the vienesse ones are a pain to make it look nice.

I am still trying very hard.

Come to think of it, Aussie smooth is a bit of an oxymoron. The stereotype of an Australian is a rough country bloke.

Unfortunately not many people in my studio want to dance it 

I love watching Natalie and Stefano dancing it. Beautiful.
