Most annoying traits in a follow

Here are 8 annoying traits in a follow. Feel free to add your own.
1. Jewelry: I have the scars and torn, bloody shirts to prove it! You can tell the good salsa dancers - no jewelry
2. Noodle arms, no resistance. Nothing I can lead...no connection, I disconnect
3. No eye contact. I could be a post. No connection
4. She does her own thing. Shines which often throw us off time. Learn to shine...on time
5. Anticipates, wrongly. Hey wait a sec, I'll lead you. Patience is a virtue (no connection)
6. The death grip. One more twist will break my finger. Loosen up lady!
7. Tango hold, collapses my whole side. Darn those argie tango crossovers. It doesn't work in salsa where you may need to disconnect quickly. No tango, no tangle!
8. Ponytails. Whip whip whip my face again. The antidote - the duck and weave method
9. I am polite and say hi I'm so and so, she says...nothing. Honey I was just trying to be courteous, give me a fake name at least LOL (no connection)
10. Ignoring the lead. If I'm dancing on 1, why are you dancing on 2? No connection...

well I think I am guily of sme of those. But I wonder if some of that comes from inexperience. I know that at times I am leaning on my party and get confused with offering a resistance to a tight grip... But I am getting better with that.
I think with my leg injury I have been more unbalanced and relied on my partner.
Never had a ponytail to whip

This post left me wondering. Exactly how do you feel about no connection?
Just kidding!
Are you talking about follows specifically in a social salsa setting or just follows in general?

Oh gosh they are all valid but I am sure a follow could come up with plenty as well.
It is about respect and some people just don't respect the effort of the other.

I find it funny that no one has chimed in with additional pet peeves or come back with annoying habits of leads. Hmm.
Of the OP's list, I think the one that would bother me the most would be the ponytail. the dance related stuff could be because the follow is an inexperienced dancer. But repeatedly smacking somebody in the face with your hair, just so you can make a fashion statement? Yikes. How rude.

[If I remember right, I think we started the partner topic too but follows are an easier (and more generally accepted) target

That doesn't really surprise me.
I do have to admit that the OP has some good points, though.

... except its rather a negative approach. I think the topic would work better if it was 'traits appreciated ina follow' then you could state 'not having...'
just my $0.05 *

Great topic idea. (i.e. Traits of a great lead or some such title ...) Thanks.
You make a great point, btw. A lot of times with dance, it's easy to focus on you partner's negative/irritating qualities and habits. How much more constructive it might be to focus on their strengths or on ones own opportunities for improvement.
