there are some great childrens movies out there which adults will enjoy and some that are ghaslty and to be avoided ( ie let the grandparents or aunies or someone else take your child

Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel (2009) If you ever wondered what gargling a bucket of bleach would be like, this is the rough equivalent, with said ‘munks singing pop songs in a bid to drive parents round the twist. I got this on DVD and the lady at the checkout said it was funny in places it wasnt;
 it lacked; charm
any sense of charachter development
humour
plot
it had;
the unlikely premiss that teen girls would scream at delinquent rodent pop-stars ( with no irony)
 a villain who is so nice that the rotten things that happen to him make you symapthetic

leaves you reaching for your shotgun and The Critter Recipe book

Lion King 1 and 2! 2 is my favourite, because it's very romeo and juliet.

Actually...lol...they're both a bit R&J. Epic.

Toy Story. Anastasia.

Finding Nemo. Pocahontas.

All of them definitely worth a watch.

Pretty much ANY disney movie is not really all that appropriate for young children. Many innuendoes and such. Seems to get worse with newer ones.

It was just as bad with the old - maybe not innuendoes but many of them terrirfied me.  Pinocchio, lady and the tramp, 101 dalmations - they were all survival feats for me

The thing with Disney + innuendo is that the kids don't pick up on it. And if they pick up on it, well, they already know.

I know that I never ever got any of them when I was smaller.

Good point.  I remember well leaving our first 'sex ed' class in middle school and my best friend turned to me and said 'They went further than I thought they would'.  In essence negating the whole program.  Well, maybe there was some poor repressed kid in there that learned something...

ah but the innuendo is negated by the schmaltz:

Pinnochio is well just a scary movie.....even A.I. is far more poignant ..
