Dourada.  baked whole with grilled tomato and king mushroom and rice.  Just fab.
How come I live 1,000 miles from the sea in toronto and I can get fresher fish than in Vancouver?

Seafood availability is weird.  It was the same when I lived in Florida. I was an hour from the coast in either direction and could never find any fresh fish.  Makes no sense at all.

I think its the culture - floridians are more into supermarket processed fish.  In englandI lived in the centre of the country (150-200 miles from three coasts) and the fish was fabulous.  But England was a fish nation.  The US is not.  Curiously, Toronto is - I guess there are enough English here Grin

Maybe it's because almost nobody who lives in Florida is actually from Florida, so they're used to eating yucky old fish.

Speaking of fresh seafood, if you like lobster, you MUST have them in Maine one of these days.  They're incredibly inexpensive there and so, so good!  When we were there, friends bought a couple bushel baskets full of them for a very decent price. We could all have as many "bugs" as we wanted.  What a contrast to everywhere else I've ever been, where one puny lobster was almost too much to afford.
