left my computer behind - and any distractions and walked over to our very fancy local sushi bar. There I got a seat next to the chefs and facing the wall and ordered 'omakasi'. I spent over an hour eating the most delectable creations one by one in inner silence (not outer though, its a small noisy place and there is always the music too). But it really worked as a zen moment to let my mind go.
I'm going to do this more - eat alone and with an inner quiet - its something I don't do enough....

I had a retro moment last night and order pink champagne with dinner. I loved it! So, when next we see each other, I will be the one in the full skirt, with the strand of pearls and every hair in place drinking champagne cocktails!
Here's to the opening of PDO!

Pickerel baked with apricots and teeny onions; potatoes and green beans, glass of pinot noire. Delish....

As for dinner, we had homemade pumpkin soup from a Thermos....I wanted to eat something healthy at the comp rather than the chips...We will always attempt to bring healthy food with us, expect when we are at an interstate comp, that may be a bit harder.

then order in from a top restaurant - the look on everyone elses faces would be worth the cost
My friend and I once had two enormous plates of carry out sushi on a flight to LA. I think we were very near being lynched by the other passengers ....

Of course! A bit of crazy is a veyr good thing as you don't see the walls that sane people do - and whacha know, sometimes the wall is a mirrage.
OTOH, most of the time I end up bumping my nose badly...
