Here are some pessimistic aphorisms; please add more....
The corollory of "If a thing is worth doing its worth doing well" is
"if you cant do it well, its really not worth the bother."
"A pessimist is a person who has had to listen to too many optimists. " Don Marquis

A pessimist is one who feels bad when he feels good for fear he'll feel worse when he feels better.

A pessimists biggest fear is that things will work out fine after all.

I've written the first half page of
The Grumapllo's Child
; a chapter called the Pea Green Boat
synopsis;..so far... Grumpallo builds a pea green boat; they go off on adventure; meet Owl and Pussycat in Bong Tree Land + Turkey who lives on the Hill etc..get attacked by sea monster, hear the Sirens*, the most boring creatures who drive sailors to their deaths by their boring song
* till I think of a beter name for them...

Some pessimist you turned out to be!
A true pessimist builds a boat only to find the pond is dry and the boat a pool

And every one cried, `You'll all be drowned!'
And every one said, who saw them go,
`O won't they be soon upset, you know!
For the sky is dark, and the voyage is long,
And happen what may, it's extremely wrong
In a Sieve to sail so fast!
