Local one-day (am/pro-am/) comp but usually pretty well attended - and you can go wine tasting too .

We have four couples from the London area going.  One of the couples will be competing for the first time.

Seems like there should be a celebration each time a couple competes fot the first time - its a right of passage (and might encourage them to do it again )

They are sooooo nervous.  They are really far better than Pre-Bronze but we want them to have fun for their first competition.  The nerves and such are going to cause them to not dance as well as they can anyway and they will have an easier time with just two dances rather than six.  We have a group from London coming down to cheer them on.  I'm also hoping that one of the couples coming may consider competing some time next year.  There is also another couple in the wings so if all goes well we may have 8 couples (all bronze since they are just getting going) from London next year.

Well I talked to the "couple in the wings" I spoke of earlier and they are onboard for competing.  They are going to start in Pre-Bronze in the fall.  I hope by then they will still want to give it a go.  It will be interesting because if they all do compete by mid-season they will probably be all competing against each other in Bronze in both Latin and Standard.
