Ah, ok. I thought that Dancesport SA and DASA were the same thing...
At any rate, we'll be at the one on the 14th. DPsaid "pick one", so I chose the one with the most people
good for you...!

Also, looks like my sister and BF's sister will be competing together, if there's a same sex division. They don't have boy partners, so often dance together at socials. We've suggested it to them and got a maybe

Okay, so more confusion regarding events.
I downloaded the
syllabus of events
. It said:
Medalist Silver and Above
Gent & Lady
Standard • Quickstep
Latin American • Samba
New Vogue • Tangoette
However,
this page
is confusing.
Firstly, it asserts that the "Silver Medalist Open Youth & Above" has only events in the bronze category.
In addition, the "Medalist Adult & Masters" silver category gives:
Standard • Waltz
Latin American • Cha Cha Cha
New Vogue • Merrilyn
as the dances.
Is any clarification possible? We've gotta know which dances to prepare.
Also, I can't find this elsewhere...is there a restriction on the figures available to the silver and over competitors?

I would say that the "Medalist Silver and Above Gent & Lady" would be the best man, best lady events while the "Silver Medalist Open Youth & Above" would be the couple events - well thats the way i would read it anyway, interesting that they have different dances for individuals and couples if that is correct.

That's what I was thinking, too. But then there's the discrepancy between the two syllabi, so I thought I'd better check.

It does. As an adult, am I able to enter both adult/masters and open?

Social Adult & Masters
(16 years and over)
Standard • Waltz
Latin American • Cha Cha Cha
New Vogue • Merrilyn
Medalist and Social competitors can only enter in ONE (1) category (eg. either Medalist or Social but NOT both.).

I hope you doto. we have booked to go to a comp in WA at the end of October.....so will see how that goes. I am finding that I can do some and then it swells and takes a day to recover.... but by then it will be 3 1/2 months so it should be stronger...
