I'm pretty excited to see what American Quickstep looks like. I feel dancers may be trying to make it popular so there can be 10 dancers in American style versus the 9.
but then there would be 6 and 4, not 5 and 5... unless its an American Latin Quickstep.

That adds up to 5 and 5, to me; did I miss something?

I am a Smooth/Rhythm girl, so I'd better know the dances! I will admit, the prospect of Smooth QS is interesting. Although I'd have preferred Peabody, if the powers that be are going to add a fifth Smooth dance. I wuv Peabody. But that puts me in the minority, for sure.
The Yankee Classic has announced American Quickstep for professionals. Should be interesting; looking forward to it.

Is there an AQ syllabus? Formal description?
We should add it here...

I got another e-mail from CSB, they sound like they're really trying to convince smooth pro couples to enter. They promised that there will be not more than 3 couples on the floor at the same time (if more than 3 enter, they'll split it in 2 groups). From their description of AQ in Costa Rica it sounded like people used patterns from peabody, quickstep & foxtrot.

I guess its QS with open moves. Sounds kinda dangerous - I like to have someone to hang onto with both arms

Any videos from Costa Rica yet on the American Quickstep? I can only imagine the possible dangers on the floor with it being so fast! Still sounds exciting
