Best to dip the arm into an acrylic paint.  That won't slip or come off.  You can throw sparkles at it as it dries.

Cotton wouldn't go to well with a dress would it? also wouldn't cotton loose its shape and not actually stick properly to the hand and arm?

Most of my gowns using the design of gloves, if you use nice stretchy lycra fabric and make sure it is fitted to the correct size of your upper arm, should not be falling down.
My blue tulle one has long gloves of stretchy fabric heavily stoned, when it arrived, I felt gloves slightly too loose but I don’t want to bother to alter the gloves (don’t want to remove large stones) so my mom just made one tiny stitch at edge of gloves to make it tighter so the gloves “hugging” my upper arm. And this tiny stitch is removable so if I sell the dress to someone with slight bigger upper arm, I’ll just remove the stitch

My pink is actually also gloves – made of skinned colored stretchy lycra long gloves; stretch fabic with correct fit is really the key, this pink dress, even with the weight of large floats attached to gloves, gloves do not fall down.

LOL, I'm not worried about it being slippery for the lead, I'm worried about it being slippery for ME!  And ditto on the nails--I like the way gloves with fingers look much better than the handless gloves anyway.

I like the look of gloves on Latin dancer too, probably use half gloves with the open hand and elastic attached to mid-finger, not the ones cover the whole hand, so no need to worry about hand connection? I don’t like the 5 finger gloves since they are easily gets dirty when I apply makeup or do a little touch up after put on dress.
