Perhaps we could help?  We could write one line each....

Please give us the first line of your speech - try to include what its going to be about so that we can stay, er, 'on' topic.  Each person can add one line to the speech but it MUST be in continuity with the line before

Goodness. i heard a programme about Detroit and how it becoming more rural as its manufacturing core has declined and the predominant Afro-American population seek to survive by going back to self-sufficiency.

Ahem...

"Gathered citizens, corporate investors, blue bloods and you paupers, it is my pleasure to take the lead in proposing the construction of a 40ft high wall around the dirty bit of our great city to benefit all of our interests. drawing on the writings of Italo Calvino, specifically Invisible Cities, we msut be aware that the City is both a real place and somewhere that exists in our mind. As someone once said the Map is Not the Territory.
