Wasn't a comp, but I once danced in a club that had a circular floor with a diameter of about 20 feet. Did a waltz consisting of nothing but right turns... The floor at the International Championship in Royal Albert Hall, London is oval. Now that would be interesting, was it easier to go round a corner?

Thats a good way of not getting caught in the corners.

You have to fight through a lot of crap before you find your way up out of the toilet. Sometimes I think I have a good hold on the rim then I slip back in. Each time I don't sink quite as deep though. - Rugby

The Indiana Roof ballroom in Indianapolis is also oval. The slats in the floor are curved. It was originally built in 1927.

Does anyone know who to contact to rent a floor? About 50 x 70 would be good.

Floor is only one aspect of the venue....Important? Yes...but only one aspect. For me, a venue isn't a good venue unless it has a bar.

having a party I suppose it depends a bit on where you are - shipping a floor accross the country might be a little expensive....

are you wanting a portable floor or a venue with a floor...I am sure that must be listed in your yellow pages for your local area.

DP and I had a couple of drinks before L3 NV final at Crown! We did our personal best and our coach were amazed by our dancing. When he asked how we did it, we told him alcohol. Should see the look on his face!

I can't drink and learn - but I can enjoy a drink when social dancing - I feel as if I dance better and maybe I do. I'm going to have to be pretty confident before I coudl try drinking at a competition - but others have said it improves them just by reducing nerves.

I cannot drink and dance, just wont happen...I have never acquired a big taste for any style of drink, so that saves me money, so I can spend it on dancing
