Mine comes from several things. Most obvious is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. At the time I was thinking about an online name, Lucy was the name of one of my favorite characters on a soap opera I used to watch. She was very materialistic and "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" came to mind when I watched her on the soap. This was also around the time of Madonna's "Material Girl" video. Not that I'm materialistic and The Beatles had the most influence on my choice of names. However, all these other factors played a roll in my decision also.

Mine's pretty simple. I found myself reading forums posts (before I decided to join) and I found myself telling my wife at the end of the day, "y'know, some lady on the forums mentioned that...", or "some guy said...". So I decided I'll just call myself Some guy, just in case there were others out there who, like me, were going home and talking about what they read on online forums.
It's quite hilarious 'though to hear the folks from the forums cheer me on at competitions, "Go Some Guy!!!".
