Mine comes from several things. Most obvious is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. At the time I was thinking about an online name, Lucy was the name of one of my favorite characters on a soap opera I used to watch. She was very materialistic and "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" came to mind when I watched her on the soap. This was also around the time of Madonna's "Material Girl" video. Not that I'm materialistic and The Beatles had the most influence on my choice of names. However, all these other factors played a roll in my decision also.

Gee, Elise, I don't know that I ever would have guessed that your user name has parts of your real name in it.   Smiley

As the comedienne Jo Anne Pflug once said, when somebody asked her if that was her real name: "Pflug is a name you change from, not to."   Grin

Y'know, I've read that title about a dozen times now, and didn't notice that until you pointed it out.   Shocked Cheesy

Mine's pretty simple.  I found myself reading forums posts (before I decided to join) and I found myself telling my wife at the end of the day, "y'know, some lady on the forums mentioned that...", or "some guy said...".  So I decided I'll just call myself Some guy, just in case there were others out there who, like me, were going home and talking about what they read on online forums.

It's quite hilarious 'though to hear the folks from the forums cheer me on at competitions, "Go Some Guy!!!".

I fixed the topic title and I think any more posts but its a bit of a bother to change every post... hopefully it will now fix itself after this one..

hehe thanks elise! I meant the title of the thread, not each individual post - you're a SUPER ADMIN! Wink
