now we have two golds. Two? What are we going to do with so many???
Now we have three golds. What are we going to do with so many???
We expected to have 6-7 golds, but now expect 10-11!!!!
Well, you're american - you always have lots of golds. thats what americans do.
We're canadian: somehow winning golds is unsportsmanlike....
Hehe......Nope. I am not American, I am Korean.

Am waiting to watch some of the ice-hockey - allows me to be patriotic & we might do well
Same with ski jump but didn't get a medal! Was also hoping to watch some figure skating but only seem to have managed skiing.

Canada is a humungous country with a small population so it is hard to compare the medal counts with countries that have large populations. I am watching the skiing and the Argentinian girls are doing their best but they have no money or sponsors so it is hard for them. They are asking other countrie's coaches where they have to go and do and so forth because they have nobody there for them. I salute them that they are doing well with so much against them. They won't win a medal by far but they are true athletes and what the Olympics are meant to be.

I loved the opening ceremonies. The singers were great and k.d. Lang sang with such conviction and she has gotten better with age. I loved the theme too. Forget statements and politics it was just a "here's us, here's our country, and were glad your here so sit down, put your feet up and share it with us". The seasons, the vastness and diversity of the country, the people and mainly nature and it's beauty. The special effects were amazing and the whales section was astounding. I also thought the fidlers were great. I would never really get into alot of fidling but I found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would. I think it was just the honest friendliness of it all. They weren't trying to sell anything or do an ego trip thing and I was glad of that. The poet at the end really summed things up well too. In a sense he was telling everyone that the reason you can't put a finger on Canada and define it is because we have become a blend of everyone and every culture and I suppose that is what truly defines us.
I'm looking forward to the closing ceremonies.
I feel bad for them that they have had the warmest, wettest winter in over 100 years. When people are bitching about it I'm thinking what do you want them to do, turn up the temperature. We Canadians are used to adversity and we just accept it, make the best of it, and move on, no problems.

Switzerland. If I heard right at the end of the match, the Americans can still make it into the medal round, but they have to sweep the remainder of their round-robin matches. I need to find the info on that somewhere.
