I liked the bit they did with the clown and the stuck leg of the flame cauldron.  He came up from the trap door where the leg is that didn't work during the opening ceremony, and made a big show out of plugging in a prop extension cord.  And then the leg came up, and the torch carrier (I forget her name, unfortunately) who didn't get to light that leg during the opening ceremony, finally got to light it.   Cool

which 'we' are you referring to?

I'm not sure the canadian psyche is ever going to get over this.  I do hope it does not change us but I kinda think it already has... the PM must be drooling.....

well I'm not sure.  the olympics was more here than a collection of sports - its really changed the way canadians see themselves and each other.  Some events are just events, others become pivotal.  Its obviously too early to really be sure but I think we may have just seen one for Canada...

I hope so.  I always knew Canadians were patriotic, we just don't feel like we have to convince ourselves by being flag wavers.  I think the Olympics helped us realize that our neighbours, be they black, white, Indian, Chinese, what have you, are just as patriotic as we are about being Canadain and we look upon our diverse ethnicity as a strength that makes Canada not only unique but the start of how things are going to be some day.
