In the training manual of MIT, it says that you need to ask yourself what have you done for 20 minutes today to improve your dancing? So I thought I would start this thread where you can say what you have done for 20 minutes that will send you on your journey to improve your dancing.

I had a high-energy cardio workout for 20 minutes on the elliptical, pushing the envelope of how much energy I could sustain effortlessly & enjoyably. Loved it... visualized Brian Watson's and Yulia Z's jive performances as inspiration while I hit my own level of high-energy fun.
Pure lifeforce in motion... way more interesting than "just cardio".

[nice topic Q
]
Today I got up (its rather early ... but I did read some of Maja's works topics already)
Yesterday I practiced for almost 2.5 hrs. That should qualify. Oh, and I spent an hour on PDO, some of which is very dance-improving.

Since I have read that in the manual it is something I think about everyday. Most days I work on doing the balance and improving my shape and improving my core strength. we are going to start pilaties. We had a good workout tonight and did 2 hours of training 1 hour each for each style we do.
We had some inspirational moments and it was great.

not that is not the point...the point that is that you have to think about your dancing everyday and do something to improve it everyday and that may be stretching exercises or balance or watching a DVD of great dancing etc.
By thinking and doing something every day you are making new habits which in turn makes changes to your dancing.

Exactly. Even thinking about it - or maybe mostly thinking about it. And, as said, reading a bit on PDO...

I think that the point is that you have to think about your dancing. some who want to be great just turn it on and off when they are at a dance lesson. but you can do exercises at home to improve balance, watch a DVD of great dancing... make sure you are sitting straight while being on the computer etc it all counts for the 20 minutes
