A lot of people start with a Kwik Sew skater costume pattern, IIRC. It's design for four-way stretch fabric, so it works as a good base for a ballroom costume. Let me google. I shall return.  |

I dont mind sewing but would need to feel confident enough to make something that grant. I do running repairs and I have change the edging on a dress, but I dont think I will make one from scratch

Exactly. And the fabrics can be a real challenge. Stretchy fabrics paired with slippery ones. *sigh* |

Latin costumes can be a bit different, though. I've known people who just started with a bodysuit or (the brave ones) a ready-made bikini top and pants.
