Blackpool – the ultimate dream of every ballroom dance competitor. To dance in the gilded halls graced by World Champions since 1920.
Artur Adamski is a talented, driven, 20-year-old competitive dancer who has set his sights on becoming a World Latin Dance Champion. Artur has a dream, a quest - to compete for the World Latin Dance Championship title in the Blackpool Dance Festival, May 2010. Last year, Artur placed 15th from 300 couples at Blackpool.
The road is demanding. It takes hours of grueling training a day; rounds of National and International Dance Competitions; physical endurance, complete focus, mental toughness and an unswerving desire to succeed. Artur Adamski has what it takes.
As in any competitive sport, funding for world championship competition can be one of the greatest setbacks for any person aspiring to become world’s best – top level coaches, training programs, travel, hotel accommodation, costumes, shoes, nutrition, health – it all adds up too fast.
“Road to Blackpool” is a community fund raising effort led by two local Mississauga businesses— Blueheel Dance Studios and Antonio’s Hair and Spa Zone— to inspire local youth and bring forth the talent inherent in this city of ours, to the world stage. All it takes is just one person to care.
