She is Belgian but they are (or were) based in Perth.
It would be exciting if there was a change at the top but am also expecting her to win. She is a really beautiful dancer.
All right, thank you for making that clear. I agree she is a wonderful dancer.

Sorry, didn't mean it as a clarification but as an agreement with you! I always forget that writing doesn't sound the same as saying.

That's the Pro Rising Star heat list. I don't see the pro heat lists yet.

Ooops - you are right, I missed that. I got notified that A&A were on a list and I assumed it was the pro list. I thought they had decided to not do RS any more- maybe because this one is SOOOOOO big!

So if it is the rising star, how many couples will show up the pro competition? Do you know?

I have absolutely no idea. Usually the pro is larger but of late the rising star and pro seem to be diverging - a lot of couples do one or the other and not both so who knows...

I do appreciate your clarification.
I didn't take it as an offence in any way or form. I am actually grateful that somebody here was able to connect the dots between Belgium and Perth.

I wonder if 154 couples is close to a record. Actually, I would imagine that honour would belong to a latin comp ...
Anyone know what the most ever is for one heat?

Not sure what you mean by "heat".
The UK used to have about 250 couple entered in the Open Professional Standard and about 180 couples in the Open Professional Latin some 10-15 years ago. The amount of entries has gone down a bit because fewer couples from Japan enter these days.
Each "heat" and/or "round" are danced with about 10 - 15 couples.
I seem to remember that the UK is on the low end of this as the floor is on the smaller size. The British Open and the German Open is in the top end of this amount as the floors are bigger.

They (DSI) are reporting the heats almost as they happen.
RS Pro Standard and Am RS Latin - are down to the top 46 (and yes, A&A are there ...)
RS Pro Latin, Am RS Standard - no results yet

This is interesting for Canada - Richard Tonizzo & Claire Hansen are through also and, as far as I know, this is their first pro comp.
Great for C

Interesting: there is only one couple through from the US: Anton Koukareko & Elena Koukareko... (though we will see more of course in the Pro quarters later in the week...)
