Wow just saw this thread, really happy my teachers Katusha / Arunas won!!! I was always hoping them win and glad they did performed well and override the PDO prediction and some others’ prediction that Mirko/Edita to be 1st. I believe Mirko/Edita amazing too, just A/K my teacher and from my studio, special kind of favorism here;)
Haha..... We all understand and I will do the same thing for my teacher when he competes.
Well, actually I like KATUSHA'S quickstep a lot and I don't know if it is her best dance or not. Wish someday I would love to have a lesson from her.

Looking at the results from pro Latin vs pro Ballroom, I've been wondering if it is easier to develop a great ballroom couple (eg Mirko/Edita) in short period of time compared to latin (eg Slavik/Anna, they have been dancing together now ~ 9 months but still placing 5th, I thought they might place higher)? I guess for latin it could be harder to develop choreography/connection? Or is it just a reflection of the standard of the other couples dancing in the final?

I look forward to seeing the UK open DVD, all the performances from the top pros, even Alesssia and Angelo performance, even though they came 12.

Well, it doesn't hurt if you (Mirko) just resigned as the world champion
And Edita has been competing at the top too (with Arunas - they won Blackpool together before he partnered with Katusha).

The account I got was that Mirko and Edita did not look 'together' yet - they probably should have waited a bit longer...

Hold on - they came second their first time out - could that ever be regarded as a bad result?

Bingo! And, Slavik has not made a champion yet. Also, other couples in Latin are very strong to beat. It is tougher than standard. Their level of dancing are almost no gaps and it's very close. Look at the results they got from all competitions. At the last year Blackpool, Yulia and Ricardo took Jive from Joanna/Michael, we all thought they would be two dominant couples in Latin. But, recently Oxana/Franco couple is very close to Yulia/Ricardo. They took 2 dances from them at a few competitions.
