What is your 'partner dance' style?

Hi,
I'm one of the admins here but since this is a brand new forum we are all newcomers and i think we should all introduce ourselves!
I focus on Intenational Standard (waltz, tango, foxtrot, vieneese, quickstep) dancing both amateur and pro/am. In the former I compete at the Gold syllabus and also pre-championship level - though we had to take a bit of a break recently due to a medical issue. In pro/am I compete at schollarship level (which is pro/am championship - we will probably have a thread on terms elsewhere).
Love to hear what everyone else does...

Well, at the moment I am not actively dancing but when I did, I was dancing Standard and Latin. So, I am really here as a mother of a dancer.
He is Amateur but in Oz, our rules are a little different to those in USA. He is able, due to study and accreditation, to coach and that is his fulltime job. Here, this does not make him "professional".
Anyway, my kitten, as I call him, specialises in Latin. He and his partner were in Burn The Floor in 2007 (some of you may have caught the show when they were in the US), but they split about 2 weeks ago so he is looking for a new partner.
And, it is good to be a cat again.

Hi Everybody,
I am currently retired from competive dancing. When I competed I did Latin and Standard. I have since moved to the US and are now coaching and teaching all styles here.
Look forward to joining this forum and participate in the threads.
All the best to everybody involved.

You are very welcome Dora - and you hold the honour of being the first member to join that was not a part of our pre-group (referred to here as UTGWT - explanations some other time!).
I know you are going to fit in amazingly well - indeed, I almost feel as if I know you already

Hello!
I have changed my name, in honor of the new board....it reflects what I hope to do at one time.
I dance Standard, pro/am, when I had a pro, but I will be back to pro/am at some point (when I have a pro again, naturally!). I'd like to do Smooth at some point as well.
The site looks awesome! I am so glad to be in our new home.

I dance/compete in international standard and new vogue (it's an australian/NZ thing)
NV consists of 15 championship dances to different rhythm, march, viennese waltz, foxtrot and tango rhythm.
P.S SwingWaltz is my favourite NV dance. =)

and you are
Rugby??
Nope, its not Rugby - she doesn't do pro/am for starters....
I've created a new thread on the PDO board for anyone that wants to share their backgrounds... else we should not really try to guess since this is an open forum and the poster may want to maintain anonymity.

Hello... tap tap... is this thing on?
I dance American style, both smooth and rhythm. Syllabus-wise, I dance mostly to the DVIDA syllabus, with some FA thrown in whenever my instructor feels like it.
My DW and I dance both as am partners and as pro-ams. We are currently straddling the bronze/silver line... must do something about that... Actually, we're not competing very much this year. We're mostly doing shows, taking a lot of coaching, social dancing, and just working on getting better in general.
Good to be here! (waves at Elise

Oh SOO lovely to see you here sweet Cornut! Please do make yourself at home - we are not many yet but the few here are very strong and very determined to make this work I think.
Let me know if you find anything that needs changing/improving...
