How well do you get on with the couples that you compete against? On the whole are they a friendly or distant group?

the majority of the couples are good, not all our best friends but friendly there are a few that are an exception to the rule but that is normal and that just makes me what to be the best I possibly can.

I voted after you. And if I had not I would not be able to see the results - which I can.
Can you both see it? There are only 2 on board...

Most of them we are friendly face-to-face to, but perhaps are a bit mean behind their back. It's mostly because of their studio, and the studio's owner...
But the people from other studios we get on really well with, and one of the guys from aforementioned studio is really cool, and I met him on the bus once, and we had a massive long talk.

I like most of the couples as individuals. They are kind and supportive and I would even give away my bowtie so that they could compete instead of myself. But on that floor, look out cuz I am out there to bury them.

I like the majority of our competitors and will always help them where I can. I have even had some of my teachers tell me that I should not be so helpful but I look at it as we are all in this together and if we can all help each other out then it makes dancing more fun. Besides, if we all help each other out what goes around comes around anyway, so it evens out.
I still remember a video I have of ourselves and two other couples, ee, I think you were one, that all came to the same corner at the same time. It was almost choreographed the way we all changed our choreo to go around each other and it showed true dancing and sportsmanship. Each one being considerate of the other. I am very glad to have these people as my friends and will always help them however I can.

There are only a few couples who compete in our age group and category that we see regularly. And only one of them is in town, so we don't get much of a chance to be drinking buddies.

Even though that may create some distance between you, I see that as an opportunity - to get to know the members of the new studio. And you will find that you get to know your original friends better in the long term.
