Crown International Dancesport Championships 2010
«

Well, I've been keeping a close ye on the website for a while, and the events/details are finally up.
http://www.crowndanceevents.com.au/crown-eventinfo.html
The 18th of April, 2010.
List of events are available for download from
here
DP and I have an interesting set. We have, for our silver medallist, Quickstep, Rumba, and Gypsy Tap (woot! Fun ones! And no jive!). For the silver medallist couples events we have Tango (mrrhm), Merrilyn, and Samba.
I can't wait. We still have to learn tango to a decent level. But it'll be awesome.
Who else is going?

I will be!
Hmmm our dances seem not to be too bad. Level 1 Youth is Waltz, Cha Cha and Charmaine, while Level 2 Youth is Waltz & Quickstep, Samba & Cha Cha and Charmain & La Bomba. Should be an interesating competition!

Man, that's not cool. How come you guys still get to be youth while we're just moved up to Adult
Speaking of which, is the Adult Medallist section large, or are most people registered by then?

Because we registered at the Australians, so we're Youth registered, not medallist

Yeah, but why aren't the age categories the same?

I don't know, youth registered starts at 16 and goes to 19, while adult start at 16 and goes to 35, so you can do either, at some comps even both

I would say its because of time contraints. The less groups, the quicker the events flow through. Also if there are only 1 or 2 youth couples in medallist - makes sense to move you into the adult grouping - give you a bit of competition. There are only one or two comps in Qld that have medallist events and they are usually lumped together. mm
