[somehow I generated two topics on this! I will fuse later]
One of my few favorites in Canada - held at the lovely Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal and always spectacular....

Show by Pablo Bosco and Sylvia Pitton and 8 IDSF world ranking competitions....
[The web site is unusual in that its just a link to PDF files]

We're going. Any advice? The train station is right across the road, isn't it? I think this year we'll take the train.
We're doing the Niagara Falls event.
Then Montreal
Then the Ontario Closed.
Getting excited about it. Our practicing is going very well, new gold routines which although rough around the edges are starting to come together.
My girlfriend is coming over from England to join us, I'm quite happy about that. Montreal is a beautiful city.

I stay at the Bonaventure cause you feel as if you can roll out of your bedroom and onto the dance floor
Actually, oine year we had 18 inches of snow and DDP was staying 2 or more blocks away and had to trudge through it to get to the competition
Another time it was -30 or something absurd...
If you take the train go via rail. Its such fun being served a nice meal wiht real cutlery and with unlimited wine etc. (don't try this on a plane). Kinda weird cause its airplane seas but whooshing in a train.
I grew up with them so love to travel that way - which reminds me to book

Starts today!! Who's going to be there?? Not staying at the Bonaventure after all, a moment of frugality has me about 4 blocks away
But it saves nearly $300...
I'm very excited - take first class train today, watch the show tonight - fool around tomorrow and then compete in the evening. Three more heats on Saturday before coming back in DP's car on Sunday....

I threw my back out while in the shower yesterday. Spent the day laid up on the couch, can hardly move today. Arghhh!

My DP has competed like this a few times too. At one comp he was so bad our fellow competitors had to help get him into and out of a chair between rounds. When he was sitting there he looked like that statue of Abraham Lincoln. We won and I am sure it was because he had this very straight unwavering posture that looked great
I competed for six months with toes that had multiple breaks. It wasn't until the doctor's told me that I would have to have them amputated since they were not healing (they told me I couldn't dance so I didn't tell them I still was) that I decided I better stop. There was only one comp left anyway. I kept my toes but it's amazing what we do to compete. Hmm, I think I need to put this on another thread too.
Good liuck at the competition and take it easy between rounds.

By far our best comp yet - and such a heap of fun. Definitely my favorite (and now just more so). Results posted on the results topic. Also lovely to see CdSN there and partner - and to watch them and their continuing successes (I'll let him report
).
Now back home - the '(virtual) studio team' won pro standard, 19+ standard pre-champ as well as our effort amongst many other successes so :)s all round...
