The whole world was black and white? Sure.
But you know, after the rest of the world turned colour, sweden was left out.
They just couldn't afford it, you see. To this day they are still black and white!

Funny that Canada is the same - though there isn't much black....

Seriously, I used to think the world was black and white when I was young (probably still do that now, metaphorically). Why wouldn't the cameras capture colours if there were any?

I remember when the bay city rollers were so big, tartan was the flavor of the month, hung everywhere over the clothes and bits from the loops of pants...
But I cant remember what their songs were.

I remember a time when I was in a landrover coming from Sarajevo in late November; we hit ice on a high mountain road and after skidding for twenty or thirty yards the landrover rolled off onto a grassy field stopping upside down. The front of the cab was crushed but the three of us were okay; we crawled out through a back door, and were rescued by the Dutch Army who took us back to their camp, an old ski lodge. We were billeted and overnight there was a foot of snow.
The landrover was a wreck. the army werent allowed to give us a military flight back to Holland, so we got put on the Sarajevo- Zagreb bus at midnight. The bus drove across mountain passes lit by a full moon. It was beautiful and scary. At one point the bus met a car coming the other way and the bus just slid when the driver applied the brakes; the car got out of our way.
We got to Zagreb safely and a couple of days later flew back to Britain.

i WOULD HAVE BEEN happy spending Christmas with the Dutch Army; they were bored and we were a distraction from their everyday routine; plus it was cosy, and there a couple of nice local girls doing bits and pieces for them who looked after me; ie got me over "shock"
