thank you all.  I had a lovely day.  My daughter and partner gave me a small surprise party which was really nice.  Actually QPO, NYE is probably one of the worst days to have a birthday as everybody wants to have a NYE party not a birthday party. Smiley  I have only ever had 3 birthday parties, for my 21st, my 50th and this new milestone 50 plus GST  Grin mm

yes I know what you mean!....V's sons birthday is 1st January,, so he is in the the same boat, it is generally always a combined event... and if he does one on the day well people are hung over from the late night (not even the alcohol) that they don't necessarily want to go go out and celebrate the next day.

I know others that their birthday is xmas even and xmas day and they day after xmas...must be a let down at times. But still you must celebrate these milestones!
