Well, I ordered the adhesive bra from Victoria Secret; it's silicone, but had more substance to it, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Mistake. It doesn't stick nor support very well, and it gaps out at the side of the cups. Waste of 50 ish bucks.

Back to the drawing board.

Taks it back and complain - sure they don't take bras back but this sounds not a bad fit but a fraud.  At the least they maygive you an exchange...

Alas, I ordered it online (no VS in my country) so the exchange/ S&H would make a return unfeasible. This particular company is very good with me, though, and I'm a frequent customer. I think I'll send them an email ,see what they might be able to do for me.

I normally only use regular bra for practice closing except for the Espen low back top I have to get VS 100 way convertible bra.

this one gives alternative way of putting straps lower so works perfectly for low back tops.

I heard adhesive ones not really so convenient. There was one blackpool, I went with 2 other ladies to Espen booth for sale stuff, and Espen was selling those adhesive bras, one of the ladies were trying them on at fitting room, and she complained the Espen adhesive was very difficult and painful to take off, they are too sticky, stick to your chest too strongly; she almost screamed when she had to pull the adhesive bra off by herself.

For comps better built-in bras, my sponsored Marabo dresses usually have double bra cups with nice body-suit, a lot of support.

Nice topic ladies.

My take on adhesive bras:

1) You can get underwire ones with full padding from ... uhh ...  adult entertainment stores like Fredericks of Hollywood.
1a) They usually stay up IF your skin is microscopically clean. Meaning, just your shower won't do, because body oils accumulate way quickly.  Use an alcohol-soaked cotton ball to clean the area where the adhesive strip will be, right before you put the bra cups on.  Then, it will most likely stay put but, as the lady at Blackpool said, it MAY hurt like the devil to remove later.

2) The paper ones are a joke, if your girls are substantial. My opinion only.

3) Even with those adhesive dealies, I do not get the reassuring, well-supported feeling that I get from a bra with straps.  Seriously.

4) I have not had good experiences with Nubra.  The static (or whatever it is that is supposed to hold the bra in place) does not work for me.  Maybe  my girls have their own electromagnetic field that makes Nubra slide down. lol

At the end of the day, since I turned 40 and my boobs turned into my grandmom's**  I've decided that in dance as in life, my clothes have to accommodate full coverage, full support undies.

** Who, to quote Harriet the Spy (a character in children's literature) had the biggest front I've ever seen. lol

Whenever this topic comes up I read 'Dancing Bras', a whole differnt topic.

It does, however, take 'partner-dancing' to a, shall we say, new horizon...

It's fair game.  Where there are dance comps, there are women in costumes.  Where there are women in costumes, there are breasts.  And, with breasts come bras and all the attendant problems. *sigh*  The trials and tribulations of being a girl.  Grin
