Okay, everybody says they want to wait until it is a good one before they post it since of course none of us want to look like morons with wood legs but how about if one or two of your competitors are posting the comps that they did well in but it could have been some of the worse comps you have had.  Not only did you get no say in it but now that horrible comp that you are trying to forget is broadcast for everyone to see.  We of course are all wanting to post ones where we look but that also means we are posting ones that could be a complete embarassment for someone else.

Exactly.  Just because I want to post my video doesn't mean that everybody on the floor at the time concurs.

I was thinking about the larger issue, not the specific people.

But yes.  Sight unseen, I  can guess it's one of two people.  No.  Probably just one, as I think the other may have already been on hiatus by 2009.  I'l go back and watch the video again when I get a chance but yes, I suspect I know her well.

In the end of course it would be near impossible in some cases to ask the permission of everyone who danced against you if they minded you posting your video.  I suppose by going out there and competing you take the chance that it is going to be shown and that is the downfall that comes with competing and has to be expected.  I would say that just post and say which one is you but don't name any of the other dancers unless they come on and mention who they are in your comments.

That sounds fair enough. And youtube is unlikely to pull the video down unless it goes viral and somebody complains.

Not that likely to happen with a pro-am comp video...

Any random stranger can re-post video of you when and wherever they want.  Hmm.  Another good reason not to do comps ...

its not such an issue  because you can't search it.  I suppose it might become so if face-recognition software becomes good enough and there are no privacy laws...
